About Us

Riverview Elementary, a school of opportunity, where collaboration and innovation inspire lifelong learners and global citizens.

Riverview Elementary School is the fifth elementary school for Farmington Area Public Schools, opening in the fall of 2009. It is located in the building that had been Farmington Middle School East and serves students in grades K-5. The school was named in December 2008 in recognition of its proximity to the Vermillion River. 

Student drop off is at 7:25-7:40am.

Class starts at 7:40am with dismissal at 2:10pm.

The mission of Riverview Elementary School, a learner-centered community that transforms the future of learning, is to ensure each individual continuously grows emotionally, socially, and academically to have a positive impact in their communities through:

Dismissal policies

Changing Student's Regular Pickup

If your child needs to be picked up after school differently than he/she would normally go home please call the office by 1:00 p.m. so we can get the message to your child’s teacher. The message will be sent by email so that we are not distracting the learning happening in the classroom. 

Any calls received after 1:00 p.m. will result in the child going home by their regular route.

Family Emergencies are the only exceptions. Thanks for your help. The office phone number is 651.460.1600.

Crossing Guidlines

  • School Patrol will be at the crossing from 7:15AM to 7:40AM, and will escort students from the building after school.
  • Student School Patrol will NOT patrol when the temperature is 0 degrees or lower (including windchill), or when there is active lightning.
  • Please check weather.gov for current temperature and weather conditions.
